Lash Extensions Commonly Asked Questions
Q. What are lash extensions?
Lash Extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash that gives the appearance of longer and thicker eyelashes. They are applied to each individual natural eyelash one by one using a medical grade adhesive for beautiful enhancement to your natural lashes.
Q. Are Lash Extensions safe?
Applying lashes is a process that is pain-free and relaxing. In fact, many of our clients fall asleep during the procedure.
Q. What do I need to do in order to prepare for my appointment?
We recommend that you arrive with your lashes clean and free of mascara, oil, and residual glues or adhesives from other lash enhancements. The presence of these substances can adversely affect the ability for your lash extensions to bond properly.
Q. How long will my Lash Extensions last?
When applied properly, eyelash extensions can last for several weeks, and even up to a month. Each experience will differ based on daily activities and the growth cycle of the natural lashes.
Q. How do I care for my Lash Extensions?
Do not wash eyes, swim, or shower for 12 – 24 hours after lash extension application, to allow time for bonding.
Do not rub your eyes.
Do not use a mechanical eyelash curler.
Avoid oil-based makeup products, including mascara and eye-makeup remover.
Use only water-based facial cleansers.
Use a Q-tip when removing eye makeup.
Do not frequently visit saunas or steam rooms.
Do not use water-resistant or water proof mascara
After 12 to 24-hours you may swim, shower, and exercise safely.
We will send you home with written aftercare instructions.
Q. How do I keep my lashes looking great?
As your natural lashes shed, the density of your lash extensions will become thinner. Touch-Ups are required to maintain your desired look. These will be needed every two to three weeks depending on how dense your initial application was and how quickly your natural lashes shed. It is easier to predict how often you will need touch-ups following your initial application.
